Vasantha Rajagopalan is a vibrant woman who hails from an orthodox family in Trichy. She completed her Bachelor's in Music from Seethalakshmi Ramaswamy College, Trichy. Soon after her graduation she got married and settled in Chennai in 1972.

She is an energetic and extremely enterprising person often trying new ventures and pushing her way through to succeed in anything she starts.

She started her own music class in 1988 with two students and then scaled to a class of 120 in 5 years. Later in 1993, she became the first generation woman entrepreneur from her family and started a small blouse stitching business which focused only on making readymade blouses with just two sewing machines out of her home. The business then grew out of her home and took a space in her backyard. From there it went on to establishing an exclusive store in Nungambakkam named Athreya Blouses.

She has nurtured this business for 20 years and is solely responsible for the goodwill and respect that Athreya enjoys in the marketplace. Today, Athreya has transformed into a household brand incorporating ESSENTIAL wear, EXCLUSIVE CUSTOM-MADE Blouses, and BRIDAL wear with the help of the next gen in business.

A proud mother of two and grandmother to 4, she loves meeting new people, travelling worldwide, being a passionate musician and a member of many social organisations and charities. She is on the Board of Trustees at Vishranthi (Old age Home Monday Charity Trust) and many other Cultural Sabhas.

Deepti Prasanna is a enthusiastic second-generation entrepreneur with diverse interests in culture, business and traditional fashion. She was brought up in Singapore and then moved to India where she finished her MBA(finance). She worked in the financial sector and moved on to corporate finance till 2011. She entered the family business in 2014 and is now the Director-Chief Executive Officer of Athreya Retail Private Limited and is spearheading the growth in the retail segment. She was chosen for the 10000 Women Entrepreneurs Program conducted by ISB Hyderabad sponsored by Goldman Sachs in 2016, where she emerged with the ‘Best Business Plan’ award at the end of the programme for Athreya Retail. Deepti is also responsible for introducing an exclusive bridal lounge with specialised designer services for new brides for their blouse needs.

She is a multifaceted person, an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer for 2 decades with many solo and group performances to her credit. She is adventurous and enjoys high altitude treks. Her disciplined yoga and exercise routines are key to her high levels of energy and always keeps her power packed. Deepti is a firm believer in family values and balances her work commitments with her family life.
